- What is an accuracy node?
- An accuracy node is the charge window where muzzle velocity stops climbing in step with powder charge — the velocity-vs-charge line flattens. Loads inside that flat spot are more tolerant of small charge variations, so groups tend to tighten. RangeNodes charts every combination's charge ladder and marks the node where the data shows one.
- Is the load data safe to use?
- No load data anywhere is a substitute for a current published manual, and ours is no exception. RangeNodes is a data record, not a safety authority: every entry is user-reported and unverified, shown with its provenance and sample size. Always cross-check current published load data, start low, and work up. You must be 18 or older.
- Where does the data come from?
- It comes from reloaders who chronographed their own loads, plus a corpus of publicly archived community handloading records recovered from the Internet Archive. Every record shows its source. See the About the data page for full provenance, the limits of the dataset, and how to request removal of a record.
- Do you have ES and SD for every load?
- No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Most of the recovered records hold a single velocity per charge, not a full shot string, so they carry no measured extreme spread or standard deviation. ES and SD appear where a contributor imported real chronograph shot data, from which we compute them directly. Import your own chrono CSV and yours will be among the first.

- The database covers rifle and handgun cartridges, and you can search any cartridge, bullet and powder combination. Coverage varies by how many reloaders have recorded that specific combination — each page shows the sample size so you can judge how much evidence sits behind it. If your combination isn't there yet, you can add the first record.
